Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Sony’s Xperia Z1 Compact as the name suggests is a COMPACT, stylish phone. It has everything that you would expect from a premium smartphone.  Sony’s Xperia Z1 Compact is going to appeal those who prefer a small yet stylish and sleek phone. It is a high-end phone with a powerful camera and excellent battery life. Sony has also pitched the phone as carrying the world’s best camera in a waterproof compact smartphone. It also allows easy transfer of all your content from your previous smartphone to the new Xperia Z1 Compact with Xperia transfer. The Xperia Z1 Compact is also available in a number of colours which further enhances the appeal of the phone.
Key Features:
  • Camera 20.7 MP
  • Display size 4.3 inch screen, 720 HD display
  • Memory(card slot) microSD up to 64 GB
  • Internal memory 16GB, 2GB RAM
Here is a review of some of the specifications of Sony Xperia Z1.
Design & Hardware
The Xperia Z1 compact has a bordered glass shell with aluminium frame. The edges are protruded by the power switch and volume and shutter buttons. These buttons elegantly rise out from the sides of the frames. All other ports such as the charging port, Sim input and microSD cards are sleekly hidden under flappy panels.
Display
Although the phone is sleek and small but it comes with a 4.3-inches display. It is only 9.5 mm thick and weighs only 137 grams.
Software
The Xperia Z1 compact has Android 4.3 Jelly bean. The phone allows you to open multiple home screens to fill up with apps and live widgets. It offers an option panel to the left which allows you to easily filter and sort out apps by the most used category or by alphabetical order. The mobile also comes preloaded with some of the Sony’s finest additions such as the Walkman, movies and Playstation.
Camera
The phone comes with an extremely impressive camera at 20.7 MPs. The camera is amazing and captures amazing shots. It has a super zoom in 3x and the high point is that the resolution does not drop below 8MP which is the default resolution. The camera also combines Sony’s award winning G Lens and the intelligent BIONZ™ for mobile image-processing engine. This provides additional sharpness and enhances the quality and brightness of the images. Above all, there are plenty of camera apps available on the phone which allows you the edit images and add different patterns and images to the picture. However, the video quality isn’t as good as the picture quality. A “Timeshift burst” mode is also available, this allows you to take a series of photos before and after you hit the capture button.
The Z1 Compact
The Z1 Compact in many ways actually ends up being the Sony smartphone we would go for, despite the size and screen gains of its bigger Z1 brother.
Xperia Z1 Compact makes a powerful, compact, sleek and chic phone. It has everything you would want from a modern smartphone. The games and videos on the phones fly, the apps are easy to download and run instantly. The 2GB RAM on the phone allows to multitask quickly between multiple apps. It is highly suitable for those who do not want to a carry a big mobile phone and want to carry a compact version with style.
Price: The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact costs £450 sim-free and and will be available free on contracts costing £29 a month. (correct at the time of writing this)
