Sony have certainly been busy this year flooding the mobile market with a number of their latest range of Xperia Android smart-phones throwing in newer, sleek designs and in various price ranges. The latest handset to come on the scene is the Xperia L phone that's ready to replace Sony’s Neo range of smartphones and is the latest smartphone to slip in at the bottom end of Sony’s phone range, starting with prices alongside the mid-range Xperia SP to accomplish a group of mobile devices which are headlined by the famous Sony Xperia Z. The Sony Xperia L does provide a good set of functions and features to the bottom end of the mobile marketplace and though it'll perhaps not be as cheap as the likes of the ZTE Blade 3 and the Nokia Lumia 520, it'll still register as inexpensive for lots of people.

Carrying a 4.3-inch TFT LCD Display but regrettably doesn’t have Sony’s flagship BRAVIA Mobile Engine technology, filled up with a dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and an 305 GPU; all powered by a 1750 mAh Li-ion battery, internal storage of 8GB of internal storage of which only 5.8GB is available, the rest being taken up by the running system can be expanded up to 32Gb via a micro SD card. It also features an 8MP rear camera which also supports HDR for stills and video, but limited video recording to just 720p and hosts a front facing camera that has a VGA sensor.

The Xperia L runs with Jelly Bean 4.1 from along with Sony's custom skin- a home screen editor allowing you to quickly and easily manage your widgets, shortcuts and apps as well as changing the phone's design and background. Comes jam packed with all the usual features such as dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Hotspot creation, NFC and USB 2.0. But Sony have failed to add LTE and GLONASS for navigation for this model and if you’re a fan it will be will sorely missed. Another factor to mention is the handset only has proximity, compass and accelerometer sensors and is lacking a Gyroscope.

There's no precise Sony Xperia L launch date at the moment, but will be released at some point in the coming months. The cost has been confirmed that it will be around £229 SIM FREE, but no mention as yet what the contract costs will be.
