Microsoft Launch Nokia X2 Android Phone

Now that Microsoft has bought out Nokia, the company has launched an Android phone, which seems a bit counter intuitive. Microsoft has said, however, that it will not allow any viable phone operating system market to remain unexplored. Clearly, Microsoft want to get into the phone market in a big way, no matter what it takes. The phone comes with a tiles interface similar to Windows phone 8.0, but it is clear that the phone is not a true Windows phone at a glance, although some effort has gone into creating the WP interface on the Android phone.

Nokia Lumia 1520

Here we have another large phone with a 6" screen with full 1020p HD, and a rather nice phone it is too. I counted that, at a push, you could place 20 tiles going vertically down the screen, and 12 horizontally, so a total of 240 tiles. Granted they were small tiles and that the exercise is not feasible in the real World, but it shows you what could be at your fingertips with this phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z

Samsung’s new Samsung Galaxy Z phone has a trick up its sleeve. It’s the first phone from Samsung to operate Samsung’s new Tizen system. A plus is that, since it’s based on Linux, developers won’t have a problem developing for Tizen, and users will still be able to access Google Play for apps.

Yotaphone 2

The Yotaphone 2 is a phone with an unusual name and some unusual features. Let’s start off with its appearance. It has a slab front with a curved back, with an electronic paper display built into the curved back. The main display is a 5” 1080p AMOLED number, with the secondary electronic paper display a staunchly 4.7” size at 540 x 960 resolution. The electronic paper display screen is also a touch screen, enabling touch scrolling down books etc.

Nokia Lumia 635

So here, we have the Nokia Lumia 635, and a decent phone it is too! There is one caveat though, and that is that the only difference between the 635 and the Lumia 630 is that the 635 has 4G LTE and the 630 has 3G, so it really depends on how much speed is important to you. The phone is reasonably light too at 134g.
