It seems that Nokia have been very busy lately, hitting the mobile phone world with their Windows 8 phones. One of their line up in the Windows 8 world is the Lumia 520 which is set to be released on the 1st of April, or so we are lead to believe and is available in a choice of five colours which are red, yellow, black, white and blue. Nokia have certainly put some thought in to this Windows Phone, giving you a budget smartphone coming in at around £150 price mark, which will appeal to those who want a funky looking phone without robbing the bank.

The Nokia Lumia 520 sports a 4” 480×800 IPS scratch-resistant display using 235 pixels per inch which is very responsive, as you can even scroll the screen with fingernails or gloves, which is great when you’re out in the cold and your phone rings (no more of that quick struggle to get your gloves off, by that time you have missed the call.) About time too! Nokia have whacked in a Snapdragon™ S4 Dual-core processor which has a running speed of 1GHz, Adreno 305 GPU, 512 MB of RAM, Bluetooth 3.0 and has 8 MB of internal storage which can be upgraded to 64 MB via the microSD slot they have also thrown in 7GB of storage on Microsoft SkyDrive so you can sync both your phone and computer or laptop and make your office mobile with pre-installed apps of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

The Lumia 520 features a 5 megapixel rear camera with digital lenses built in (a Nokia exclusive), which lets you take multiple photos with a single click using the Smart Shoot feature, you can even create panoramic images like those featured on Android Jelly Bean platforms and the iPhone 5, and allows you to record 720p quality videos using 30fps. If you love games then the Lumia 520 has some great apps with DirectX 11 drivers, Touch UI and XBox-Live Hub, it also includes the usual Nokia software with apps like Cinemagraph, Nokia Music and Creative Studio. Another great feature of this phone is and HERE Maps so you’ll never get lost and introduces, HERE Drive which provides gives you with detailed directions just like a satnav and all the benefits of Windows 8 with Live Tiles which will constantly update in real time on your home screen, and allows you to personalise the content and lets you resize the tiles.
